Purpose

This Data Policy explains how Protein Intel approaches data in its B2B intelligence platform for the meat, poultry, and protein industry. It supplements our other legal pages and is meant to set clear expectations about sources, freshness, and how you should use what you see in the product.

Sources

Protein Intel uses public source data and other publicly available records. That includes USDA Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) market reports published through USDA MyMarketNews, USDA FSIS public records such as establishment directory and recall information, and other public records or licensed materials we are permitted to use where applicable.

Protein Intel is an independent platform. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by USDA, AMS, FSIS, or any government agency.

Accuracy, completeness, and timeliness

Official records and market conditions change. Data may be incomplete, delayed, revised by the source after we ingest it, or contain errors introduced during collection or processing. A record in Protein Intel should not be treated as a guarantee of a facility’s current status, certifications, or operations. For market reports, verify prices, volumes, and other values with the original USDA MyMarketNews report when needed.

Enrichment and presentation

Protein Intel may normalize, organize, enrich, categorize, or display data to make it easier to search, filter, and understand. Derived fields, labels, or groupings are for convenience and may not match terminology used by regulators or industry bodies.

Your verification obligations

Before you make operational, sourcing, compliance, legal, or financial decisions, you should verify critical details directly with official sources, the facility, the company, or the relevant agency. Protein Intel is a research and productivity tool, not a substitute for direct confirmation from authoritative parties.
