1. What this notice covers
This Cookie Notice explains how Protein Intel (“we,” “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies on https://www.proteinintel.com and related product experiences.

2. What are cookies and similar technologies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. Similar technologies include local storage, pixels, SDKs, and server-side or client-side analytics scripts that may collect usage signals without a classic cookie. We use the term “cookies” here to cover these technologies unless we say otherwise.

We do not use Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, PostHog, or advertising pixels on the site as of the date of this Notice.
5. How we use analytics
- The site runs on Next.js hosted on Vercel.
- Vercel Analytics measures aggregate performance and usage.
- Microsoft Clarity provides analytics, session replay, and heatmaps.
- We apply Clarity dashboard masking settings (currently Balanced) and mask certain form fields on sign-in and sign-up pages. Replays may still include on-page content as displayed during a session.
Analytics and experience tools are used to measure performance, understand usage, improve UX, and debug product issues. Session replay may reconstruct browsing sessions and may include on-page content; we do not claim that replays are free of personal information.
Error monitoring. We use Sentry as an essential monitoring tool. It is not part of Analytics & experience and is not controlled by the Accept / Reject choice for Clarity and Vercel Analytics. We do not enable Sentry Session Replay.
Where our consent banner applies, Analytics & experience tools — including Clarity and Vercel Analytics — load only after you Accept. If you Reject, those tools do not load. Essential technologies, including Sentry, continue as needed to operate and secure the Service.
6. How you can control cookies
Depending on your browser and device, you may be able to:
- Browser settings — Block or delete cookies; control third-party cookies; clear site data.
- Private / incognito mode — May limit persistence of some cookies (does not replace legal consent where required).
- Our consent banner — A simple Accept / Reject choice lets you allow or deny Analytics & experience tools (Microsoft Clarity and Vercel Analytics). Where the banner applies, those tools load only after Accept; Reject continues with essential cookies and technologies only (including Sentry error monitoring). Advertising storage remains denied. Your choice is recorded and honored on subsequent visits; material changes may prompt you again.
Disabling essential cookies may break login, security, or core site functions.

7. Consent model (Option B)
Where our consent banner applies:
- Analytics & experience technologies — Microsoft Clarity (session replay / heatmaps) and Vercel Analytics — load only after you Accept.
- If you Reject, those tools do not load; essential cookies and technologies needed to operate the site continue (including Sentry error / performance monitoring, which is not Accept-gated).
- We do not enable advertising storage.
- Your choice is recorded (including a consent version) and honored on subsequent visits; material changes may bump the version and re-prompt.
Banner short copy (for reference): We use analytics, including session replay and heatmaps, to improve Protein Intel. Choose Accept to allow these tools, or Reject to continue with essential cookies only.
8. Updates
We may update this Cookie Notice when our technologies change. Material changes should be reviewed alongside Privacy Policy updates. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when we post a revision.
